What it means

This is a distribution shift. Shopify merchants now appear in AI conversations alongside search results, without lifting a finger. The Universal Commerce Protocol handles everything from product discovery through post-purchase support. For Australian ecommerce businesses on Shopify, this is free incremental visibility across the fastest-growing discovery channels. The question is not whether to opt in. It is whether your product data is clean enough to perform well when an AI recommends it.

What to do

Check your Shopify Admin to confirm Agentic Storefronts are enabled
Audit your product titles, descriptions and images for clarity and accuracy
Ensure pricing, inventory and shipping information is current
